The Madison High School CHOICES program is funded by St. Luke’s Episcopal Health Charities and is coordinated by the Greater Houston AHEC.  It involves 3rd year medical students, under the direction of Dr. Joey Fisher, from Baylor College of Medicine who provide a curriculum on topics that encourage healthy behaviors.  Additional health topics and health career information are provided by AHEC staff.  During the school year, Madison students come to weekly after-school sessions where they participate in engaging and interactive exercises centered on topics such as:  underage drinking, harms of tobacco, nutrition, exercise, and sexual health.  The program year includes a career/college fair and traditionally ends with a banquet to honor student participants.
