The Pathways Project, a partnership between the
Network of Behavioral Health Providers and the
Greater Houston Area Health Education Center (AHEC), is exploring different paths along which individuals can travel toward choosing behavioral health careers.This multi-year project, funded by United Way
of Greater Houston, the Meadows Foundation and the Houston Endowment, began in Summer 2008; after the data collection of Phase I,
Phase II began in August 2009 by working with
two schools--the DeBakey High School for Health
Professions and Coleman College of Health Sciences
of Houston Community College.Through exposure, education, experience and extra
incentives, we will be studying variables which impact
on career choice, and encouraging students to pursue
careers in the behavioral health fields.To contact us:
